If you want to jump in and try a few problems on your own, here are a couple websites that host some problems. You will need to create an account for each website. If you have any questions or problems, please contact me and I will help you out in any way that I can!

HELP WITH YOUR FIRST PROBLEM

C++

  • Make sure you return 0; at the end of your programs. This may not matter on UVa, but it matters at real contests.
  • All code must be in ONE file.

Java

  • Read this to avoid Compilation Errors! UVa is particular about Java programs.
  • All code must be in ONE file.
  • All programs must begin in a static main method in a Main class.
  • Do not use public classes: even Main must be non public to avoid compile error.
